むかし 、 小さい 女の子 が いました 。

Long ago, there was a little girl.
女の子 は いつも 赤い ずきん を かぶりました 。

The girl always wore a red hood.
だから 、 みんな は 「 あかずきん 」 と よびました 。
dakara minna wa akazukin to yobimashita
So everyone called the girl "Red Riding Hood."
ある 日 、 お母さん が 言いました 。

One day, her mother said something.
「 おばあさん は 病気 です 。 これ を あげてください 。 」

"Grandmother is sick. Please give her this."
あかずきん は 森 へ 行きました 。
akazukin wa mori e ikimashita
Red Riding Hood went to the forest.
森 で おおかみ に 会いました 。

In the forest, she met a wolf.
おおかみ は 「 どこ へ 行きますか 。 」 と 聞きました 。
ookami wa doko e ikimasu ka to kikimashita
The wolf asked, "Where are you going?"
「 おばあさん の 家 へ 行きます 。 」 と 言いました 。
obaasan no ie e ikimasu to iimashita
"I am going to grandmother's house," she said.
おおかみ は 先に おばあさん の 家 へ 行きました 。
ookami wa saki ni obaasan no ie e ikimashita
The wolf went to grandmother's house first.
そして 、 おばあさん を 食べました 。
soshite obaasan o tabemashita
And it ate the grandmother.
おおかみ は おばあさん の ふく を 着ました 。
ookami wa obaasan no fuku o kimashita
The wolf put on grandmother's clothes.
そして 、 ベッド で 待ちました 。
soshite beddo de machimashita
Then it waited in the bed.
あかずきん が 来ました 。
akazukin ga kimashita
Red Riding Hood arrived.
「 おばあさん 、 目 が 大きい ですね 。 」
obaasan me ga ookii desu ne
"Grandmother, what big eyes you have."
「 耳 も 大きい ですね 。 」
mimi mo ookii desu ne
"Your ears are big too."
「 口 も 大きい ですね 。 」
kuchi mo ookii desu ne
"Your mouth is big too."
おおかみ は あかずきん を 食べました 。
ookami wa akazukin o tabemashita
The wolf ate Red Riding Hood.
その 時 、 りょうし が 来ました 。
sono toki ryoushi ga kimashita
At that moment, a hunter came.
りょうし は おおかみ の おなか を 切りました 。
ryoushi wa ookami no onaka o kirimashita
The hunter cut open the wolf's belly.
あかずきん と おばあさん は 外 に 出ました 。
akazukin to obaasan wa soto ni demashita
Red Riding Hood and grandmother came out.
二人 は 元気 でした 。 みんな は とても よろこびました 。
futari wa genki deshita minna wa totemo yorokobimashita
The two were safe, and everyone was very glad.
